Backup and Storage Admin - 4+ Years

Required Backup and Storage admin with 4+ Years of Experience in Using TSM and EMC Networker,ArcServe and Tivoli Storage Manager.This Opporninuty is with a leading IT Client in Hyderabad



Roles and Responsibilities
  • Provide 2nd level support of backup and storage systems:
  • Maintain and monitor TSM servers and automated tape libraries
  • Perform TSM client monitoring, troubleshooting and performance optimisation
  • Perform software installation and its maintenance and upgrades,
  • Optionally support EMC Networker, ArcServe and Veeam backup systems.
  • Handle Incident, Problem and Change management tickets in accordance with SLAs.
  • Participate in 3rd level projects aimed at design, test and implementing measures, systems and software to protect, backup and restore.
  • Keep the environment documentation accurate to comply with the security and operational standards and procedures.
  • Work with vendor support to resolve incidents and perform root cause analysis.
  • 2nd level support on-call duty in non-business hours.  
Required Skills and Experience: 
  • Advanced administration knowledge of Tivoli Storage Manager (3+ years, certification preferred).
  • Experience with DP for Mail (Domino), MS SQL, Oracle.
  • Experience with advanced TSM client configurations in cluster environments.
  • Experience with B&R techniques.
  • Experience with library/tape management.
  • Experience with BMR.
  • Basic knowledge of standard operating systems and virtualization technologies (Windows, AIX, Solaris, Linux, VMware).
  • General understanding of clustering architectures and principles.
  • Optional knowledge of other backup software (ArcServ, Networker, Veeam).
  • Optional knowledge of TSM for VE.
  • Optional knowledge of DB2 backup&recovery.
  • Optional knowledge of TSM Manager.
  • Optional knowledge of shell scripting.
  • Optional knowledge of Storage Area Networks based on Brocade technologies and EMC storages. 
  • Experience in providing 2nd level (optionally 3rd level) ICT operations work.
  • Willingness to perform on-call support.
  • Good communication skills and ability to efficiently work in multinational teams.
  • Experience in working in an ITIL oriented company is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel on short business trips abroad. 
  • Bachelor's degree in ICT or corresponding experience in respective field.
  • Very good command of both spoken and written English.
  • German language skills are a plus.
