Job Description:

• Fluency in SQL and database specific programming language (PL/SQL, T-SQL etc.)
• Expert in DB performance tuning, DB defragmentation and maintenance plan for complex SQL and/or Oracle databases.
• Expert in porting data from old DB version to newer versions for Oracle and/or SQL.
• Ability to do Data Modelling including ER & dimension modelling for oracle/Sql
• Expert in physical schema design for given Database (indexing, constraints, partitioning, caching etc.
• Good knowledge of tools like jmeter, SOAP UI, Wireshark, Load runner, http watch, etc.
• Ability to understand the business applications and transaction model including end-to-end flow from ‘system’ perspective.
• A variety of debugging and optimization skills; great debugging and optimization skills in as many areas as possible not just SQL or database tuning.
• Hands on multithreading experience, preferably with pthreads.

Responsibilities:

Exp: Total: 5-8 years out of 4-5 years of relevant

The key job responsibilities include the following:

• Join Deloitte's Global Office of Information Management as a Sr. Software Engineer and perform detailed analysis and design, technical documentation, construction and implementation, unit and integration testing, and transition and deployment of software components and systems on complex projects.
• You will also coordinate coding and testing activities and evaluate and verify various alternatives before making technical recommendations and resolving technical issues.
• In addition, you will coordinate various software development tasks with Development, Deployment, and Quality Assurance.
• Software prototyping and construction – Deep experience developing stored procedures, and advanced data development skills with T-SQL, generating code to extract, transform and load data, performance tuning of queries – Create prototypes, if necessary, to validate proposed solutions and seek feedback from stakeholders – Good understanding and experience following test-driven development and continuous integration practices
• Analysis and Design – Work with Project Managers and Business Analysts to properly define/clarify business requirements, development estimation, and work plan finalization – Analyze business user requests, estimate tasks throughout the project life cycle, design and document appropriate solution, and design the business components and database objects required to implement the solution – Work with the Development Team to design the front-end and back-end systems necessary to fulfill document requirements – Coordinate with peers on design implications and work with them to resolve issues
• Perform unit and integration testing on all developed code – Create and execute unit and integration tests within development lifecycle – Proactively benchmark application code to mitigate performance and scalability issues – Work with Quality Assurance Team on issue reporting, resolution, and change control
• Support and Troubleshooting – Assist Operations Team with any environment issues during application deployment across Development, QA, Staging, and Production environments. – Assist Networking Group with troubleshooting problems that may arise from applications or integration of various components – Maintain application development servers with minimal assistance from Operations Group. “Train the trainers” is sometimes required depending on the complexity of the software and quality of external documentation

The key skills required are as follows: 

1. 4+ years’ experience designing, building, and deploying enterprise solutions with exposure to multiple software packages/vendors, programming languages, and technology platforms
2. SQL development including queries, triggers, stored procedures, tables, constraints, and functions, logical and physical database modeling, data migration and data analysis
3. Basic experience with the .NET framework and other technologies: C#, ASP.NET, ASP, JavaScript, Visual Basic Script, transactional development, JSON, JQuery, XML, Web services
4. Basic understanding of infrastructure and security concepts.
5. Experience with SharePoint Search Indexing is a plus
6. Excellent verbal and written communication
7. Strong presentation and facilitation skills
8. Microsoft Certified Software Developer (MCSD) and/or Microsoft Certified Applications Devel oper (MCAD) a plus
9. Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience
