Application Packaging Consultant (4+ Years)

Looking to fill Application Packaging Consultant Positions with a Multinational in Hyderabad.
Position Summary and Primary Responsibilities:
Serves as a technical expert in the area Application Packaging and Deployment. Provide general and routine technical support to a broad range of installation, patching, configuration, and updates to Operating Systems and non-OS vendor application requiring the ability to research, analyze, and resolve problems effectively to meet established performance metrics. May require on-call availability and may require working during non-business hours and on weekends.

Primary Responsibilities

• Packaging, deployment and support of Desktop Applications and hardware
• Development and maintenance of software packages (including PC and laptop builds) using Install shield Admin Studio, Microsoft App-v, Active Directory, and Group Policies
• Monthly rollout of Microsoft OS and Application Patches. Manage the patching process and communicate with teams globally. Assist in testing as needed
• Expert knowledge of application deployment using Microsoft SCCM
• Expert Knowledge of Monthly Patching for Microsoft and Business Applications
• Experience in MSI packaging using Install Shield and Applications sequencing using App-V

Scripting Experience

• Knowledge of Software Asset Management (SAM) is highly desired

Education

• Bachelors or Masters Degree in Information Systems. Relevant Industry Standard Certifications such as MCSE, MCSA, ITIL

Experience

• 3+ years in Information Technology with at least 2+ years as an Application Packaging & Deployment Engineer in a Global Corporation

Education or Experience

• Master’s Degree in Information Systems
• Overall 3+ Years as an Application Packager / Deployment Engineer in a Manufacturing and/or Industrial Corporation
• MCSE, MCSA, ITIL Certifications

• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical data
• Ability to write in a clear and concise manner
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions

Additional Specific skills and experience

• Administer and pro-actively monitor the global SCCM Infrastructure
• Work with Software Publishers for application updates and contract management
• Respond to requests from end users, managers, developers, and team members for specific IT Software Asset Management data information
