The role is very much hands-on; as a technical lead you’ll be up to your waist in code every day and will be expected to be the main authority on delivering clean, robust and elegant code to solve the problems at hand. However, you will also take ownership of the technology, with total autonomy on architecture and low-level, detailed design.
