Search for Director – Finance Shared Services @ Hyderabad for a Multinational Gaming Company. Experience of 15+ Years into Finance Operations is Must. CA or MBA finance (Premier Institutes Only) preferred.

Role Overview
Finance plays a pivotal role managing the company’s financial performance and the Hyderabad Finance Shared Services organization supports finance & business partners around the world in achieving their goals. Established in 2009 and with a current team strength of approximately 110 members, it is responsible for supporting various finance functions throughout the world, specifically Purchase to Pay, Accounts Receivables, Credit & Collections, General Ledger Accounting, Financial Planning & Analysis, Payroll & Strategic Sourcing. The India entity accounting team also reports in to this role.
The successful candidate will lead the Hyderabad Finance Shared Services with oversight of its day to day operations and requires critical partnership with business partners across other offices around the world. Apart from ensuring smooth day-to-day operations, the role is required to collaborate with finance leadership in establishing the strategic direction of the organization and expected to deliver quality, productivity, process enhancement, continuous improvement initiatives and participate in system change projects that add value to the Company finance & accounting processes.
Key Objectives of the Role:
Finance Operations
  • Oversee finance & accounting worked performed and ensure compliance with deadlines, policy and local regulations as required.
  • Holds accountability for achieving operational targets agreed with corporate & regional business partners by ensuring that work performed at the shared service center is compliant with policies & procedures issued by corporate & regional controllers.
  • Establish partnership with corporate & regional function owners, meet regularly to review performance using business and operational metrics and maintain a pulse of operations – highlighting risks, opportunities and clearly communicating to ensure no surprises. Ensure any issues are appropriately addressed in a timely manner.
  • Conduct periodic reviews with directs and operations teams against set targets, understand issues & challenges faced, formulate strategy to overcome challenges and resetting course whenever required.
  • Ensure shared service center processes are well documented, aligned with policies & procedures approved by financial controllers and meet internal or external audit requirements.
  • Ensure department meets month & quarter end close requirements & timelines. Proper submission of month-end reports that are required to close books. Ensure all balance sheet reconciliations are accurate and meet requirements for documentation.
  • Responsible to close all audit issues raised for work performed by Shared Services & India Entity Accounting.
  • Identify areas where process controls can be tightened or where process efficiencies can be implemented. Take action as required to ensure an environment of continuous improvement.
  • Responsible for evaluating process design and effectiveness as well as assisting in the assessment of potential technology solutions within scope of responsibility. Work in conjunction with functional managers and IT on all system design efforts.
  • Assist finance teams around the world in evaluating future processes that can be serviced by the Hyderabad Shared Service organization.
People Management:
  • Lead & professionally coach department personnel to achieve business results & professional development objectives.
  • Set performance expectations during annual reviews and throughout the performance period to ensure goals are met or reset if required.
  • Delegate work with proper direction & accountability.
  • Develop directs through regular one-on-one coaching using formally agreed development plans and team members during monthly team meetings or on individual basis whenever requested or required.
  • Identify and develop high performing individuals to take additional roles & responsibilities and ensure succession planning for all key positions.
  • Encourage employees to follow industry, function trends, enhance knowledge in Oracle or other applications / systems used, functional concepts. Provide opportunity to team members in meetings to share learning with others.
  • Participate in department compensation planning including performance-based bonus, talent planning based stock award.
Technical Skills & Requirements
  • Master’s degree in Accounting or MBA from reputed B-School; CA, CPA highly desirable.
  • Minimum 15 years of related experience and 8 years in a supervisory role. US MNC, Product Development or Digital Business experience highly desirable.
  • Strong command of accounting including sub-ledger transaction processing; financial statements, including P&L, Balance Sheet & Cash Flow. Experience with budgeting, forecasting, reporting and analysis desired.
  • Excellent oral / written communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to partner effectively with executive-level partners.
  • Ability to manage multiple and competing projects / priorities.
  • Strong analytical and technical skills (including general accounting concepts and systems expertise).
  • Strong drive for data integrity, process definition, and organizational alignment.
  • Adept in MS Office, with an emphasis on Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Proven experience using financial applications like Oracle R12, HFM, Hyperion Planning and Essbase
  • Willingness to travel and flexibility with working hours given the global coverage of the role
  • Strong people management skills, having managed diverse finance functions.
Reporting Lines
Position reports directly to Chief Accounting Officer based in Redwood City, California and dotted line to various finance leaders in Global Accounting and FP&A organizations.
