The key purpose of the role is to develop
and maintain pricing and costing models for business opportunities valued
between £1m and £500m that company competes for with other businesses and to
maintain pricing data for existing contracts.
This is a role that will be potentially
visible across the entire organisation up to the executive level as the
financial models build by the job holder will be used for the sign-off of
business opportunities by executive decision makers.
Core Duties/Responsibilities
The successful candidate will come from a
commercial background within a similar BPO or services business and have a
proven focused experience in developing commercial pricing models.
You will support Sales and Relationship
Management teams with tender submissions for new business and contract renewals
by developing and utilizing financial models.
You will understand key accounting and
cost benefit principles e.g. ROI, IRR, NPV, EBITDA etc., and have experience in
building financial models and analyzing the cost/benefit of investments and
taking on new business. A snapshot of your duties will include:
1.
Develop and use costing
and pricing models to quantify revenue, margin,
costs and risks for competitive bids, investment projects and business cases.
2.
The models you develop
will include P&L analysis, cash flow analysis and scenario analysis; these
will be built by using advanced Excel tools and techniques (pivot tables, V
lookups, Excel formulae, VBA etc) and have a clear structure.
3.
Present the output of
these models clearly in detail and summary level in support of business
decisions.
4.
Support development of
commercial strategy (e.g. innovative fee structure), standardization and best
practice for new and existing products and services.
5.
Review won client
contracts to determine whether the commercial models were converted into the
expected commercial outcomes (EBITDA, cash generation etc.).
6.
Apply relevant company
policies and procedures.
7.
Collate intelligence and
MI relevant to Commercial Finance for continuous improvement and decision
support.
8.
The successful candidate
may be given the opportunity to recruit and manage junior members of the
Commercial Finance team and develop own career at company.
Skills, Knowledge & Experience
The successful candidate will demonstrate
the following experience, skills and behaviors:
Technical Skills:
- Full degree level finance or accounting qualification
from a reputable college or university (equivalent to CIMA or ACCA), with
6+ years of commercial pricing and modelling experience.
- Proven experience of developing pricing models and
in-depth knowledge of recognised pricing methodologies, techniques and
tools.
- Advance MS Excel skills, with knowledge and confidence
to build complex financial models and perform data analysis.
- Commercial acumen and financial literacy.
- Articulate and concise manner of explaining financial
implications of the model to non-finance managers.
Behavioral Skills:
1.
Ensure excellent
relationships are maintained with key business teams as well as with the client
facing relationship and Sales teams.
2.
Manage own workflow and
prioritization of tasks.
3.
Excellent communication
skills to enable cross-working with various teams, excellent command of the
English language.
