Job Summary
  • Compensation Analysts support the Director of Compensation to ensure both global market structures and employee total reward programs are in alignment with company policies and guidelines, are competitive within the applicable market place, and are compliant with legal and fiscal regulations.
  • Successful Compensation Analysts are strong guardians of company values and principles. They have strong interpersonal skills and are approachable, responsive, results oriented, proactive, and trustworthy.


Minimum Experience Qualifications
  • University Education preferably in Finance
  • 7 to 10 years of direct compensation experience obtained with a multi-national company
  • Compensation experience to include working within a global market structure, with marketing pricing experience in the UK, India, and the middle-east.  Other country experience is helpful.
  • Should the candidate have experience in managing benefits within other countries, while not a requirement that skill set would be valuable

Essential Responsibilities and Duties

Compensation Expertise
  • Design, implement, and manage salary classification and compensation programs including preparation of occupational classifications, job descriptions, and salary scale. 
  • Manage the annual merit process globally by creating a project plan and managing to the approved tasks within the agreed upon time frames.  This will also include creating the forecast budget for salary increases, management of the merit template and creation of all applicable communication materials
  • Monitors salary surveys and analyzes salary distribution trends; identifies problem areas and makes recommendations regarding adjustments to the salary structure and/or individual salary structure and/or individual salaries as needed.
  • Analyze compensation policies, government regulations, and prevailing wage rates to develop competitive compensation plan
  • Analyze, review, recommend, and obtain approval for changes to compensation at the country level to competitive compensation packages within the stated guidelines
  • Market price jobs based on the approved compensation framework along with the development of job descriptions for various positions
  • Analyzes and manages the job classification system; reviews requests, develops procedures, and prepares budget requests for associated costs of reclassification, reallocation, and job incorporation.
  • Studies work force trends to include turnover and absentee patterns in various work groups.
  • Forecast budget for salary increases.
  • Research job and worker requirements, structural and functional relationships among jobs and occupations, and occupational trends.

Analysis Creation
Requires the ability to utilize mathematical formulas; add and subtract totals; multiply and divide; determine decimals and percentages; interpret graphs; compute discounts, interest, profit and loss, ratio and proportion; perform calculations involving variables, formulas, square routs, and polynomials; perform statistical calculations which include frequency distributions, reliability and validity of tests, correlation techniques, factor analysis, and econometrics; and perform algebraic operations.
Strong excel skills demonstrable by the level of understanding of the higher level functionality within this application

Market Survey Expertise
  • Participate in the preparation of data required to support data requests for market and salary surveys
  • Manage associated data bases that contain applicable salary data

Other Key Tasks
  • Ensure compensation standards comply with company policies and/or other regulations or legislation.
  • Assist in development of home country policies and procedures to support the compensation function.
  • Ensure compliance with Data Privacy and Protection Guidelines.
  • Ability to assemble information and make written reports and documents in a concise, clear and effective manner.

Benefit Plan Support – Not a current requirement but could move in that direction
  • Evaluates, analyzes, reviews and audits all aspects of employee benefits programs such as self-insured health insurance, pension, short and long term disability, and life insurance; assures the programs remain cost-effective while meeting the needs of the employee population and management.
  • Responsible for the administration of COBRA, FMLA, HIPAA and other relevant Federal Labor Laws.
  • Administer and manage employee insurance plans.
  • Oversee pension and savings plans.
  • Administer, direct, and review employee benefit programs, including the integration of benefit programs following mergers and acquisitions.
  • Design, evaluate and modify benefits policies to ensure that programs are current, competitive and in compliance with legal requirements.
