Urgent requirement for Manager – Master Data and Procurement Analysis

We are looking for Manager – Master Data and Procurement Analysis, for a diversified,industrial services company,currently operating in over 50 countries, and employing over 12,000 people worldwide, serving some of the world’s largest and most essential industries including steel and metals, energy, and railways

Key responsibilities include:
  • Manage / supervise the day to day activity of the master data management process and the procurement analysis activities,delivered through a team of experienced business analysts;
  • Deliver operational service levels agreed for the master data management and supporting analytics activity, whilst improving trends for operational efficiencies.
  • Establish and maintain performance tracking reports;
  • Ensure stage gate compliance for master data requests and monitoring data quality and fitness for the purpose, driving continuous improvement activities;
  • Demonstrating measurable benefits of data management to lines of business, business processes, and systems, ensuring data integrity is upheld at all times;
  • Work extensively with regional and global business representatives (finance, operations, engineering, IT and procurement), to define the strategic master data direction and resolve issues with respect to processing and policy;
  • Implement and improve master data policies and procedures in alignment with information management policies supporting operational efficiencies, data quality and standardization;
  • Liaison directly with Category Managers, (Sourcing teams), to fully understand the individual requirements and deliverable across projects, support the Category Managers in the development of sourcing strategies;
  • Development of the analyst team to ensure product and supplier knowledge base is enhanced to maximize quality, turnaround and accuracy of data;
  • Work closely with all levels of the organization,including presenting to an executive level audience when requested, to educate the business on master data issues and opportunities;

Key characteristics expected:
  • Background in master data management;
  • Experienced within an engineering environment or associated industries sector;
  • Proven track record of implementing and sustaining best practice data repositories and achieving consistently high results;


II.   Basic Qualifications

A.Education &Experience:
  • University degree in business, finance, computer science, supply chain, engineering,logistics, or marketing discipline and eight to ten (8 – 10) years master data management experience. In lieu of a University degree, twelve (12)years master data management experience that includes at least 5 years in an environment of similar data content;
  • Progressive responsibilities in all areas data management;
  • Extensive history of data governance, data stewardship, data quality and data architecture standardization;
  • Proven leadership abilities, with a collaborative leadership style with experience in developing and retaining staff including establishing and clearly communicating performance objectives and goals;
  • Proficient English written and oral communication skills is a pre-requisite;
  • Ability to work effectively with a level of independence, whilst meeting or exceeding set targets;
  • ERP experience, ideally Oracle;

 III.Preferred Qualifications

A.Education or Experience
  • A minimum of 12 years’ experience in senior master data roles;
  • Experience within procurement supporting activities, principally supporting analytics of items such as spending patterns;
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills;
  • Strong PC experience with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint;

B.Interpersonal Skills
  • Be self-motivated, a go getter and target driven;
  • The ability to engage and influence, and establish trust and credibility with customers & other stakeholders;
  • Ability to write in English in a clear and concise manner;
  • Ability to lead discussions, present information and respond effectively;
  • Ability to manage people;
  • Ability to resolve conflicts;

C.Technical Skills
  • ERP, ideally Oracle;

D.Other Desired Skills or Qualifications

  • Demonstrated ‘Can-Do’attitude, who focuses on developing and working through solutions; 

IV.Essential Functions
  • The ability to listen to customer & other stakeholders feedback
  • The ability to predictably and regularly attend work and to be punctual;
  • The ability to deal politely and professionally with customers/Suppliers and/or coworkers;
  • The ability to perform several tasks at once;
  • The ability to interpret business strategy and implement instruction;
  • The ability to use a computer to communicate, create, and access information;
