The candidate will work in a database team to ensure 2nd and 3rd support with focus on production environment, performance and tuning, design, deployment and support of Sybase ASE (12.x, 15.x) infrastructure.

The candidate will work in a database team to ensure 2nd and 3rd support with focus on production environment, performance and tuning, design, deployment and support of Sybase ASE (12.x, 15.x) infrastructure.
- Usual tasks will also cover activities like design of backup and recovery strategies, monitor and correct all database maintenance jobs/activities, assist in the design of new databases for project needs.
- Candidate must have extensive experience OLTP relation databases and very good knowledge of Transact-SQL.
- Participate in 3rd level project support aimed on improvement of existing Sybase infrastructure.
- Provide 2nd level support on-call duty in non-business hours.
- The candidate should be motivated, sensitive to risks and controls, work well under pressure and possess strong problem analysis and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work in multinational teams, willingness to travel on short business trips abroad.
- Good verbal and communications skills and very good team player.
- Experience: 3-7 Years.
- Bachelor’s degree in ICT or corresponding experience in respective field is desirable
- Professional experience of in IT-Services, preferably achieved while working for a service provider
- Strong experience with the administration of Sybase ASE 12.5 and 15.x is essential
- Knowledge of Sybase Backup Server, Replication Server, SySAM is necessary
- Experience with UNIX based OS is a must, knowledge of Solaris 10 is a plus
- Working with DB stored on RAW devices
- Experience with Legato or Tivoli Storage Manager is a plus.
- Experience with Sybase IQ is a plus
- Knowledge of script computer languages on operating systems such as Unix/Linux/Windows
- Basic Knowledge of IT-Security & ITIL (ideally ITIL Foundation)
